Hide door now fixed

Hide door can now be opened without tbe use of key plus crowbar..
A adult argentatus herring gull and 5 manx shearwaters were seen yesterday.

Med.Gull

A 1st summer med gull was in front of the hide on the rising tide yesterday.

2 little terns 1 glaucous gull

2 little tern spent 10 mins on mudflats then flew south.
1 Glaucous gull was far out on mud flats looked to be a 2nd year bird.
2 Barnacle geese far out feeding on grass bank.
Whitethroat at hide.
Spot fly and little gulls seen in last few days.

2 Avocets Lurgangreen

2 Avocets were seen today just north of hide around the mouth of the river fane.The hide will be open about 11am to 6 pm tomorrow sunday.

A Great Open Day



Some good birds today including a goosander 5 gadwall a ring billed gull and a summer slavonian grebe.
Keys for hide can be got at Coachmans tea rooms for  a returnable deposite.

Open day of the Oscar Merne Hide Sunday April 13 at 11 to 6 pm.

Directions for hide are driving from dundalk on the old dublin road, you pass the fairways hotel going south just before you get to the coachmans tea rooms on the left ,turn left down the small road leading down to the southside of the mouth of the river fane.Parking at the coachmans is avavilable.
